Fierce, exotic and edgy are what Roberto Cavalli is all about. The Italian designer showcased his first gown collection in 1970. His designs are known for their wild prints and boho chic impact, promoting the Cavalli woman as strong, confident and sexy. Cavalli revolutionized fashion by discovering leather printing, which he used to make leather evening gowns. He also started printing denim textiles and invented stretch jeans by mixing in Lycra in 1995. At 71 years old in 2011, he stated "Fashion is a part of my DNA. I could never live without it."
