Tunisian native, Azzedine Alaïa found his love for couture and design at an early age. He began dressing private clients while working at a dressmaker. In 1957, at the age of 17, he moved to Paris and began working at Christian Dior. He then moved to Guy Laroche followed by Thierry Mugler. He launched his first ready-to-wear line in 1980. His seductive, figure-flattering garments and retro, laser-cut shoes and bags have gained massive recognition since then.
