Check: Sticking to Your New Year's Resolutions

Start exercising? Check.
Travel more? Check.
Read more? Check.
 
At the beginning of every year, we right down our list of resolutions for the months ahead. However, sometimes (or most times in my case), when it comes down to actually accomplishing them, our goals become daunting and almost unreachable. 
 
Just remember, the New Year is a time to reflect on the previous year's accomplishments, setbacks, and choices. It's a time for growth and self-improvement. We can wipe the slate clean and start with a fresh outlook.
 
 
Whatever your New Year's resolution is, here are a few simple tips to make sure your stick to your list:
 
1. Change one behavior at a time
Just like you develop unhealthy habits over time, for instance smoking, you can replace them with healthy behaviors incrementally and slowly. Simply replace one healthy habit at a time and be honest with yourself about what you can and cannot achieve. Do not, i repeat, do not set unrealistic goals; it's all about baby steps.
 
2. Progress not perfection
Always remember, some setbacks on your way to reaching your goal are completely normal. Just make sure these mishaps don't put you off and discourage you. Make it your mantra: progress not perfection.
 
 
  
3. Share your experiences
Reach out to family and friends about your experiences. Talking about your goals, struggles and successes makes the entire experience less daunting.
 
4. Ask for help when you need it
Don't be afraid to seek help. Whether it's just your loved one's support or the help of a professional, accepting help will make the entire experience more pleasurable and attainable.
 
5. Reward yourself
