The Color of 2018

Drum roll please... Pantone officially announced the color of the year for 2018 and it is a "dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade"; the Ultra Violet.

We're heading to the future in a shade reminiscent of the mysteries of the cosmos, an intriguing color that speaks ingenuity and originality.
We can't help but think of outer space and the magic of the galaxy.
We're leaving the leafy green color of 2017 and entering this year with a complex and introspective shade. It insinuates the limitless possibilities of what can be and a "desire to pursue a world beyond our own".
This perplexing ad enigmatic hue has always symbolized individuality and originality. Ultra Violet was highlighted by musical idols such as Jimi Hendrix and Prince as a form of non-conformity. The color is also associated with mystical, spiritual qualities and mindfulness; hence why is used for meditation spaces.
Celebrities were ahead of the trend and stole the spotlights with the Ultra Violet shade before it became the Pantone color of the year for 2018.
