RUBA SA'D ABDULHADI FOUNDER, CEO

Motivated by a desire to succeed, Ruba gained her academic credentials at Egypt’s American University in Cairo, where she obtained her BA degree in Mass Communications and Psychology. Subsequently, she received an MBA degree from the Lebanese American University while also studying as an exchange student for a year at Harvard Business School. Owing to Ruba’s broad experiences living in various cities of the Middle East, from Dubai to Palestine, she developed a need to empower the women of the region. Impressed by their intelligence, curiosity, and sophisticated sense of style, Ruba dedicated herself to making the modern Arab woman’s life easier through Elmuda.com. It was her desire to cater to that energy and to grant women access to fashion that led her into a career in fashion.

BADEA JABER CO-FOUNDER, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Badea channels the voice of elmuda.com through multiple stories, editorials and articles in the website's magazine, The Journal. Raised in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Jordan, she holds a BA in International Relations from Duke University. Badea began her fashion career with a stint as a Wardrobe Stylist for a short film titled Haneen in Jordan where she worked with local tailors to customize outfits for the cast members. Later on she would become the senior Editor at U Magazine for which she managed and supervised the work of 12 editors and designers; planned, shaped and edited the content; performed interviews with regional and international designers; and represented and promoted the magazine. Always an inspiring fashionista, she has been part of the team since its founding.

HAYA ISSA, FASHION EDITOR

Haya joined the elmuda team in 2015, bringing with her a passion for fashion and a conviction that working for a start-up affords her a better opportunity to grow with the company and have a more influential role. She previously attained a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management with a focus on Social Psychology at the University of Kent in addition to a master's degree in Management from the University of Leeds. But fashion has always been Haya's obsession. In fact, ever since she was a kid, she would read Cosmopolitan religiously, Google the latest trends and try to match new outfits from her and her sisters' closet. At the age of 11, she asked her father for a sewing machine, subsequently trying out new styles in different fabrics. As for the future, Haya sees herself becoming someone influential in the fashion world.
